What makes a community?

All individuals need a sense of community to feel complete. Communities are built from social encounters and meaningful interactions. An industrial park is not a community. An industrial park is effectively a dressed-up version of a Dickensian workhouse.

The size of this initiative, when combined with the initiatives of others like Adobe and Google, provides the opportunity to turn San Jose into a next-generation city. This cannot be accomplished without creating a sense of community and this is not possible by simply creating a new city, as communities cannot be replicated overnight.
